The Best Pokemon Movies of All Time
Pokemon is a popular franchise that has been turned into 20 movies. Each one shows the values that make up the world of Pokemon, from friendship and teamwork to courage and optimism.
Even though not every movie has done everything perfectly, most have been able to tell an exciting and entertaining story. Let’s look at the best Pokemon movies, from the worst to the best.
The First Movie
Pokemon: The First Movie is one of the first Pokemon movies, and it helped get people interested in the series. It gives us our first look at Mewtwo and is a fun movie.
Mewtwo is a bad guy with a clear history and reasons for being wrong. He is a foe who can be beaten with the right plans, so it’s great to see Pikachu hold his own against him.
This movie is also fun because it tries to tell different kinds of stories that have never been told in the Pokemon franchise. It also manages to add a lot of new characters, like Ash and his family, who are the main characters.
The Second Movie
The second Pokemon movie in the series had great animation and setting. It also used the “internal conflicts” writing style, a nice change from the usual “villain or entity” plot.
Lawrence III wants to add Lugia to his collection but can only once he gets Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. This will upset the balance of their elements. This causes natural disasters worldwide, and Ash has to help restore the balance by going to the Legend Festival on Shamouti Island.
The main villain is a very strange person, which makes it hard for people who don’t like Pokemon to get into the story, but the rest of the characters were very well done. This made the movie much more interesting than many others.
The Third Movie
The Third Movie may not be as good as the first two Pokemon movies, but fans should still check it out. It has a new main character, Molly (Katee Sackhoff), and many of the same cool Pokemon characters.
The movie is mainly about Molly and her father, who goes missing to look into something scientific. Because of this, she is given a crystal fortress where she can make up her dream world.
The movie also has a bunch of cool Pokemon, like a robot pirate and an underwater super-pokemon. One of the cutest Pokemon I’ve ever seen is in the movie, too. This movie is mainly for kids, so parents should know that there are battles between Pokemon and Pokemon thrown from tall buildings.
The Fourth Movie
The new Pokemon Celebi, a cute bug that looks like a vegetable and has a special power that lets it travel through time, is the focus of the fourth movie. In the past, it started with a boy named Sam saving Celebi from a hunter.
Because of this, Sam and Celebi are sent back to Ash’s time; as they fight a new bad guy called the Iron-Masked Marauder, who turns Pokemon bad by giving them a dark ball that boosts their power, they become friends.
This movie also has one of the best plots in the whole series. It’s about how the Vale tribe has to move after a fight between two legendary Pokemon. Also, there’s a good message about propaganda and mass media.
The Fifth Movie
When Ash, Misty, and Brock go to Altomare to participate in a Pokemon water race, they find that more is at stake than just the race. Annie and Oakley, two bad women, want to steal the Soul Dew, a powerful jewel guarded by two Legendary Pokemon, Latios and Latias.
Even though the plot of this movie repeats itself a lot, it still has some good points. Fossil Pokemon like Kabutops and Aerodactyl is also in this movie, which was an excellent addition to the series.
This was also the last time a dead Pokemon came back to life in a movie, which was another cool idea. The previews for this movie showed a Kabutops skeleton coming out of the ground. This concerns the games’ ability to return Pokemon that have died out.
The Sixth Movie
In this movie, Ash (Ryan Reynolds) goes to a strange island where a new Pokemon named Mewtwo challenges him. Mewtwo is a super-copy of an old Pokemon that wants to get even.
Many Mega Evolutions are going on when Mewtwo and Ash’s Pokemon fight. It’s fun to watch Mewtwo kick ass, and it’s great to see Charizard back.
Team Rocket is also very funny in this movie, and they have a good sense of right and wrong. It would be cool if Delia and Professor Oak had something to do with the story.
The Seventh Movie
The Seventh Movie is a big step forward for the Pokemon series because it links the stories of three movies together. It could be a better show, but it shows how the franchise moves toward a more interesting Pokeverse.
It tells about Jirachi, a Mythical Pokemon that wakes up once a thousand years for a week to grant a wish. Butler, a former member of Team Magma, wants to take it for himself. It needs to be saved from Butler.
In the movie, there is also an aquatic circus, and Ash and his friends meet Manaphy, a Pokemon living in the sea and bonding with May. Large floating balls of water are used in the Marina Group’s shows, which are fun to watch.
The Eighth Movie
Most people agree that the eighth Pokemon movie is one of the best in the series because it has much going for it. It is also important because it examines several moral issues and tells how Mew came to be.
Fans of the series will like how long the movie is and how many fight and battle scenes are in it. It also has a very good plot and a lot of great characters.
The movie starts when Ash and his friends see a red blob coming after them. The lump turns into a cradle in the end and eats Jessie. Even though James tries to save her, it’s too late.
The Ninth Movie
Since Nintendo and Satoshi Tajiri first brought Pokemon, it has succeeded considerably. Pokemon has taken the world by storm with its video games, trading cards, stuffed toys, apps, TV shows, and even full-length animated movies.
In the Ninth Movie, Ash and his team are back to battle other dangerous creatures. This time, the time-travelling Pokemon Lucario wants to discover why his master betrayed him.
The movie is surprisingly good. It has a lot of exciting characters and battles with a lot at stake. The movie also shows where some well-known Pokemon came from.
The Tenth Movie
“The Rise of Darkrai” is the name of the tenth movie in the series. Here, we learn about Darkrai, one of the most dangerous Pokemon. It also has a lot of cool cameos from legendary Pokemon and a story that will likely make you cry.
The movie’s story comes from a popular Nintendo 3DS game with the same name. It has a lot of rising stars as well as well-known actors in its cast.
This movie is fun, and you won’t want to miss it! It’s full of cool Pokémon, robot pirates, and a temple under the sea that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Molly, a little girl who has been through a lot and is given the power to change her life through Pokemon, is in her first movie. This is a strange premise, but the film looks and moves beautifully.
